British Values
At our school in Kent, we are proud to promote British Values alongside our own school values of Respect, Honesty, Fairness, Enjoyment, and Courage. We believe these values help children grow into thoughtful, responsible, and confident members of our community.
We have carefully mapped British Values across our curriculum, so children explore them in lessons, activities, and school life. This includes:
-
Democracy – Children learn to share their ideas, vote in school elections, and understand that their voice matters.
-
Rule of Law – Pupils understand why rules exist and how they help keep everyone safe and happy.
-
Individual Liberty – We encourage children to make choices, take responsibility, and respect the choices of others.
-
Mutual Respect – Respect is at the heart of everything we do, from classroom teamwork to everyday interactions.
-
Tolerance of Different Faiths and Beliefs – Our pupils learn about, and celebrate, different cultures, religions, and traditions.
By linking British Values to our lessons and everyday school life, we help children understand their role in the wider world while building on the strong moral foundation of our school values.
