Applying for a Reception Place at Victoria Road Primary School – September 2026

We're so excited to welcome new families to Victoria Road Primary School! If your child will be starting Reception in September 2026, here's everything you need to know about applying for a place.

How to Apply

To apply for a Reception place at Victoria Road Primary School, you'll need to complete an online Common Application Form (CAF) via Kent County Council.

📅 Application opens: 7th November 2025
📅 Application closes: 15th January 2026

When Will I Hear About My Child's Place?

You'll receive an email on 16th April 2026 after 4pm letting you know which school your child has been offered a place at. You can also view the offer online.

What Happens Next?

Once you receive your offer, you'll need to:

  1. Accept or decline the place in writing to the school.
  2. Provide proof of address to confirm your child's main residence.

What Proof of Address Do I Need?

When you accept your child's place, you'll need to bring the following documents to the school office:

One of these:

  • Council Tax statement for 2025/26 or 2026/27, OR
  • Signed Tenancy Agreement, OR
  • Exchange of Contracts/Completion document

Plus at least one of these:

  • Child Tax Credit, Working Tax Credit, Job Seeker's Allowance, or Disability Benefit letter or statement
  • Driving licence
  • Motor insurance schedule
  • Utility bill (gas, water, electric, or broadband)
  • Payslip

Proof that your child lives at the same address (any of the following):

  • Doctor or hospital letter in your child's name
  • Savings or bank account in your child's name
  • Child Benefit statement

Please note: This is not a full list. Kent County Council or the school may ask for additional evidence if needed.

Important Information About Address Evidence

⚠️ Your offer may be withdrawn if:

  • You do not provide sufficient address evidence, or
  • The evidence provided does not support the address you used on your application by the closing date (15th January 2026).

This applies even after your child has started at the school, so please ensure all documents are accurate and up to date.

Starting School – Part-Time Arrangements

Admission to our Reception class will initially be on a part-time basis to help your child settle in gently. Once a place has been formally offered, we will contact you with details of start dates and admission arrangements.
