2017 Outcomes in KS1 are higher than 2016 results in reading and maths. They are above national and significantly higher than FFT predictions based on prior attainment

 

Reading- The proportion of pupils achieving or exceeding the expected standard was higher than national and FFT predictions based on prior attainment. This represents very good progress. 

 

Writing- The proportion of children achieving the expected standard was slightly lower than last year (by one pupil) but above national and significantly higher than FFT predictions which again represents very good progress from a GLD at the end of Year R.

 

Maths- The proportions of pupils achieving or exceeding the expected standard was higher than the previous year and significantly higher than national and FFT predictions.

 

Phonics in Key Stage 1

 

Phonics is taught well in EYFS and KS1. 83.3% of pupils achieved the phonics standard in Year 1 which is slightly lower (one pupil) than 2016.

50% of pupils (2/4) who re-took the phonics met the standard in Year 2. 93% of this cohort have now met the phonics standard.
